Dodge 230 C.I.D. Camshaft Info.

Post by D.R.H. » Mon Nov 27, 2017 5:50 pm

Hello Gents, I stumbled onto some old info of mine from 2010. It is for the camshaft for a Dodge/Chrysler 230 engine and the grind provides the engine with better performance. Stronger valve springs are required and are available through Iskanderian Cams in Gardena Cal. I found that this cam grind produced a better and more complete burn of gasoline in the combustion chamber as well as better top end performance. It works very well with the single barrel Ball & Ball Carburetor.
An important question may arise, "Do the valves make contact with the underside of the Cylinder Head"? The answer is NO. http://www.iskycams.com/

3/4 Grind
250 degree duration
Intake timing, open 16 degrees before TDC
Exhaust timing, open 54 degrees before BDC
Intake timing, close 54 degrees after BDC
Exhaust timing close 16 degrees after TDC
Intake and exhaust cam lift .376
Intake valve lift .364
Exhaust valve lift .362
Intake valve lash(cold) .009
Exhaust valve lash(cold) .011
The following timing is taken at 220degreess@ .050 rise
Intake open 1 before TDC : Open exhaust 39 before BDC
Close intake 39 after BDC ; Close exhaust 1 after TDC

Enjoy!!
