Guys, thanks for the replies. I'm not planning on using the hook for real, even tho the guy who made it said it's a pretty strong piece. I'll have it properly primed, so it looks more smooth.

Hi guys,
Giving you a heads-up after months away. The truck is ready to be painted, and in the meanwhile I got myself busy with some tricky parts, those being the windshield frame and the door window glass frame.
The windshield frame was rusted to the core; after I removed the remaining old rubber, I could see through the whole thing. I almost declared it hopeless, but miraculously I found a guy who said he could restored it. And he did, beautifuly.
My truck came with glass in only one door. This one fortunately had a frame in it. It's a complicated piece to reproduce by hand, but the same dude made it for me, plus restoring the original one too! I really hit the jackpot with this guy.
Take a look at the photos:

It's real hard Kelley! I'm now trying to find headlight outer rings and internal door handles, but it's been tough.kelley wrote:You're right Julio, that guys does nice work . It must be tough to find parts for a 70 year old truck in Brazil?

Hey guys!
It has been a year already! These have been some troublesome months and I went from trouble with customs to trouble with my metal guy. He has been working full time at a bus repair shop and only got to work on my Chevy on spare time, but phew, now that's done.
And the good news is: the truck finally has a windshield, working doors, all glasses and mirrors, and a hood stand! I'm about to take it to check the gearbox, restore the steering wheel and - after all - manufacture the bed.
Please make your remarks!

Customs is always a pain, no matter what country you are in...I feel your pain!
Your truck is looking GREAT. I also like the station wagon in the background..Brazilian manufacturers really did well with their designs!

Hi there my friends!
Giving you a heads-up on the restoration process, and I'm proud to say that it's almost done! I found a guy to make a cargo bed for me, and I'm enjoying the progress so far. I changed the old 900x20 tires for 750x20 and now the truck really looks correct in my eyes. The mechanics were completely overhauled, as the wheel bearings were all but helpless. Gearbox revised (still a bit noisy tho) and engine working as a clock.
