SteveG, contact Pintelhook11over here on the 'G'. He is my friend and has an aluminum waterbuffalo. He did a lot of research and found spigots that are a spot on match. He can tell you where to find them. Let me know if you have trouble getting ahold of him. He doesn't have much time now with Job, Director of Finance, and new recruit in the family.

Thanks for the lead Sgt Hancock, but I don't own a water buffalo trailer at this time.

Re: IHC M-1-4 and M-2-4
Thanks for all of your nice comments. The M-2-4 was a complete restoration as it was very rough to start with. The M-1-4 I bought it partially restored, about 50% i would say,out of Grants Pass Oregon.I finished it enough to make the convention in Portland.I still have work to do to it.The water Buffalo did come from Steve along with a Spen cargo trailer.I haven't started on the cargo trailer.I am missing 1 spigot for the water buffalo. Here are a few more pictures of M-2-4 restoration,my kids in the local 4th of July parade, and the Spen trailers.

Jeffro,
Nice machines! You must have spent some time to scare up all of the parts to assemble such nice complete IHC trucks. I have never seen an ambulance body like that, it almost resembles a stock bed. Does it break down flatter for transport?

I was taught in the Marines that the only stupid question, is the one that never gets asked. So, "What is wrong with us?" Or is it that the rest of the world is just lazy? I see what you started with Jeff and think of all the fun you had cleaning, sandblasting, priming, painting, obsessing over rare parts .
Indeed the trucks you have saved are fine, fine !!!

Re: IHC M-1-4 and M-2-4
I often ponder this question, especially when I have taken a week vacation from work to media blast. You have plenty of time to think philosophically when doing tedious mind numbing tasks like media blasting. So, "What is wrong with us?" Or is it that the rest of the world is just lazy?
Unfortunately I think that many of us Americans have become sort of lazy as the labor required to transform scrap metal to a gem seems inordinate to most individuals. Only those with vision, passion and drive need apply...some spare cash and weeks of vacation or spare time also helps.
So is everyone else lazy or are we kind of crazy? Anyway I am proud to be in the fold, great work there Jeffro!

Hi Jeff
Beautiful trucks! I'm from Boyertown Pa. where your ambulance body was built. I also just purchased a 43 M-2-4. Pretty complete just going over the brakes now and it also has a broken front CV joint that I am trying to find a cage for. You wouldn't have any ideal where I could find one would you? I also would love to talk to you sometime about your restoration.

I forgot to say that we also have an ambulance in our museum here in town. I currently have my 42 Ford GPW on display next to it in the Museum.

Re: IHC M-1-4 and M-2-4
Let me say this- when I was stationed in Portland, I met up with Jeffro and his family and were/are friends for a long time. He is an amazing guy not only personality wise, but professionally. He loves to network to find his parts, and still works a full time job! Jeffro is roughly? my same age, but what he manages to complete in the little time that he has, is just unnatural .
While it takes you and I six hours just to sandblast some small parts, he has already accounted for the next 3 steps, and is on the phone attempting to procure either new parts, or find a West coast G503er who may 'know of a guy'.
Those trucks are priceless, and he and his boys are the hardest working individuals I've ever met.

Need a couple weeks for snow to go away. Had 10' drift in front of the door a week ago.
