Ron,
Quick go buy a lottery ticket! I have been on the same quest. I have found Noahs Ark and Atlantis but no 2 lb. carbon dioxide WK-77298.
Now that you finally got one and probably spent all your wife's money on it, let me know when the next three pop up for next to nothing, you know how that works.....John

Hi Frank,

I also found a Randolph brand CO2 extinguisher like the one Gary has pictured. It is used and is minus the bracket however.

fire extinguisher
When I got my M-2 the wire bracket was bolted to the front of the ammo box behind the drivers seat, I didn't know what it was for till I got Hunnicuts book, then I started looking for one, I found on ebay and the guy said it was the right length for my bracket, but once I got it I found out it was too long, so I used a pipe cutter and cut a section out, I had squeezed the trigger when I got and thought it was empty, but once I started cutting through it I found out it was still full! And I got it in the US mail that way! After cutting it down I used a mig to weld it back togather then a light coat of bondo to clean things up,the tube was too long as well and I cut it and brazed it back togather. I don't ever plan on filling this with anything,I have a modern unit for emergancy use, but since I can't afford $250 for a real one and I've only got $15 into this it will work just fine! I would like to find a label but for now I'll stencil the info on it.

I just found in my barn a fire extingisher that looks just like the one in your photo. The only defferance I can see, is the pipe between the extingisher and the horn, mine is covered with rubber (I can not tell if yours is in the photo)
Mine is dated (tested) 1944 and again in 1949. There is a decal on it but to much is gone to read. it does have USGOVT stamped in the neck area and WK& Co, on the handel is kidde (above that is a large K.)
Is this the one for the half track?
Thanks.

Frank; Thats the one. I picked one up yesterday from a fire extinguisher company. I spotted it hanging out of his trash bin, and he gave it to me. Made my day! He said he had a couple more just like it burried in his basement. I will definately check back again. I made a bracket, and installed it in the HT today. Jesse.
