Help Identifying These Wheels

Post by John Schroeder » Sun Mar 11, 2018 12:54 pm

I recently purchased these two wheels with a strait, solid axle and two leaf springs. I am not sure what they were used on, but the seller stated that at one point someone told him an Army generator trailer. One suggestion I received already was possibly late T16 Bren Carrier road wheels. The axle and leaf springs might be post-war.

The wheels are 24 inches in diameter and labeled Firestone 24 x 3 x 20, C-6524-D-6, and Made in the USA. The only part number on the steel wheel is A717 2.

Any ideas on the application for these solid rubber steel wheels?

Thank you

John Schroeder

Has to be a road wheel, too narrow for a real load.
Maybe something between Weasel (not it) and Haglands(not it) development in 50's for Airborne or Artic ops.
Early Hawk Missile loader perhaps?

Hate to offer it up, but might also be a farm implement wheel.
