Re: M2A1 Progress
Thanks for the compliment.
The storage compartment lids are on now. I started working on fixing the troop compartment armor panels but have not finished them before fall/winter. I have been working on some smaller items over the winter. I will try to post some pics soon.

Here's some of the light knobs that I refinished. Also, the fuel filter and shut off located behind the drivers seat. Anyone else have this set up?

Re: M2A1 Progress
The longer ones are on my phone, just have to figure out how to get them off there to here. I have some adjustments to make and will post some better ones . I hope to get it out a couple more times before the snow falls.

Re: M2A1 Progress
The half-track is a cool vehicle. I'm always impressed by you guys that undertake restoration of something so, well, BIG. Here's a newb question - what's the big roller on the front for?

Re: M2A1 Progress
Birm Roller/unditching roller.
Upon entering a ditch the roller prevents the front of the vehicle digging-in to the opposite face of the ditch, instead the roller acting as a wide wheel enabling the front to climb out of the ditch more easily.

Re: M2A1 Progress
It was one of the army’s good-bad ideas. By the end of the war most Halftracks were built with winches.

Wow! Those guys thought of everything. That only adds to the cool factor. Thanks for answering my question.

Re: M2A1 Progress
The back panels are finally patched up. They'll need a liitle touch up before final paint.
