Fromt the pictures on ebay I would say that this is a 60's thru 70's Bombardier (I don't remember the model designation). The town I live in has one that is an enclosed cab with a plow on the front to do sidewalks. Had a 6 cylinder chrysler engine in it.
I am unaware as to whether the military used these as any type of combat vehicle.
A google search will bring up more of these.

Actually, Bombardier did build a number of snowmobiles for military use, but indeed the one sold on eBay wasn't one of them.
