Here is a pic of my 47 CJ2A, being driven today by my neighbor's grandkid; the temp is 11 degrees below zero and the wind chill is -25. He is young and immune to the cold. Point is, the jeep started well and runs fine. Due to good maintenance of course.
That white thing in the bed is a flat angel.

Yeah, it was a Christmas decoration on that gate in the background.
12 volt, alternator; I know; cheating. But 6 volt sucks. Had lots of them.

U won't get an argument from me on 12 volt.
Never been a purist when it comes to the ignition.
Love my 12volt systems. Put them in every jeep , dodge or other I have owned
