Is this a CJ transfer case?
I’m having some difficulty ID’ing this transfer case housing. Interestingly, it looks like it could work with a T-84 but it’s obviously post war. Casting number C-18-15-10-4 and has the smaller 3/4” shaft hole. I wanted to positively identify it before I try to unload it as I don’t need it. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Is this a CJ transfer case?
It is a postwar casting, but has been machined ONLY to fit a T-84 transmission, so probably meant for MB service replacement:
- T-84 only interlock slot
- 3/4" shaft
- oil circulation holes un-drilled

Sean, so you think it’s simply a post war replacement g503 case? Not any sort of CJ case? I guess it would be OK for a post war g503 motor pool restoration?
I had a feeling you could identify this. Thanks for your time.

Yah, that's my best guess.Michael O. wrote: ↑Sat Nov 04, 2017 8:09 pmSean, so you think it’s simply a post war replacement g503 case?
Not for CJ. CJ all used T-90 transmissions, which needed the enlarged idler shaft lock plate recesses. This one is only machined for T-84 lock plate (AFAIK only used on MB/GPW), so won't bolt up to T-90 without further modification. Not any sort of CJ case?

Yah, or for anyone who just needs a good case to replace a broken/worn out case.I guess it would be OK for a post war g503 motor pool restoration?
