Help MB-T frame replacement brace tip!

Help required

For a 1942 MB-T, I have to replace the front frame brace. ( the one where is bolted the brake handle )
Question 1) is the brace a sheet metat bent piece or steel angle bar. ( 2 in X 2 in. ). The frame is too far gone to visualize the metal used at the factory. What is the thickness of this piece ( 1/8 or 3/16 ).

Question 2) By replacing this brace, I will have to put back new rivets. Is anyone ever done this process, your experience is welcome. There are rivets available on the market but how to install them…I am not equipped as a 1940`s factory. Thanks. M.B.

If you want a hobby for the next 24 months, buy a WWII trailer … you won`t be desapointed. Good points, repro components are available and in good quality.
