Quartermaster vs Ordnance Data Plates

Post by Chuck Lutz » Thu Nov 30, 2017 9:00 am

From my data base....
For MBTs
Up to the 41xxx serial number range (9/43) the plates are QUARTERMASTER
In the 43xxx range (10/43) I see them as ORDNANCE.
So the change took place in between.

The first plate I have with the ORD "crossed cannons" added to it is in the 45xxx range.

For Bantams
As early as 7/43 in the 24xxx range, QM plates show up with ORDNANCE stamped over the QM
The change to a ORDNANCE plate occurred around 10/43 along with a new designed plate.

However....not all QM plates in between got the ORDNANCE stamping added to them.
