MBT dataplate info

Post by Chris K » Sun Nov 26, 2017 4:44 am

My Willys jeep trailer has this original dataplate:

When I took a closer look at it, it raised a question. Interestingly, the last '4' stamping in the serial number seems to be made with a different font. With a DOD of August 1943, should this not have been a ORDNANCE type dataplate instead of the Quartermaster corps version?

What would be an appropriate USA registration number for this trailer?
