Here is what I received. I hope others will comment if it is appropriate or not for ww2 restoration.

Good to go!
Just remember to wire the switch BEFORE installing the harness and to mount it with the two holes in the DOWN position so the switch will drain when you ford creeks and rivers!
Hopefully you got the big NUT that holds it to the frame.

That "Big Nut" is a Jam Nut, not all Jam Nuts are created equal, this one is thinner than most.

Re: WTB bantam black out switch original ww2
Hey guys,
I just received the same switch from Mullins. Am I assuming correctly that these switches that he is selling are missing a circular cover that should cover the wiring? If so, does anyone know how thick the cover should be, was there a gasket, and what type of hardware should be used in the 3 holes to make it correct?
Thanks in advance!

No covers, correct. I will be needing to finish my cover at some point also. There are a few images of them on the g, but i have not researched the length and pitch of the hardware yet.19OlllllllO41 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 15, 2017 12:25 pmHey guys,

Grab them when you find them. There were at least two war time manufacturers, Douglas and Cole Hersee. The type illustrated with the 7/8" Thread were for the MBT/BT3, the 1 Ton Cargo Trailer did not have this set up, they mounted with three screws.

Those switches have been sold without the back cover for as long as I can remember. I think I got mine from Ron over 20 years ago and it was missing the back cover.

Re: WTB bantam black out switch original ww2
There were some boxed Cole Hersee FSN 8S-8625 Rotary Blackout Switches MBT/BT3 in sealed overseas packaging that did include the gasket and Cover Plate.
Known sources have dried up. Ross Moir (aka Cyclops Ram) had the last quantity of Cole Hersee brand that I can remember.
Ross really knew his way around MV's and made a lot of friends while at it.

Hello guys/gals,
Cover plate and hardware used to secure it.
I was unable to get my photographs to upload on this thread so I posted this also on the G503 Facebook page with corresponding photographs.
I have NOS trailer switch complete with the original hardware, gasket and backing plate. (not for sale)
Hardware is as follows:
3 - Bolts, 3/16x32 thread. Threaded shaft is 3/8" long, overall length is 1/2", slotted head overall diameter is 11/32".
3 - Nuts, 3/16x32 thread, 3/8" hex
Cover plate is:
3 7/32" round, 16ga sheetmetal. There is a small detent offset from center (see drawing in photographs)
Cork gasket:
3 7/32 round, .04" thick. There is a 1/2" hole offset of center.
I have 2 mounting nuts, one came with my NOS switch and the other I removed from my MBT.
The MBT nut I removed was 1 1/4" x 3/16" tall.
The nut from the NOS switch is 1 1/16" x 1/4" tall.
