SOLD – 1946 Bantam ½-ton civilian jeep trailer.

This trailer has been SOLD. Old ad follows: For sale is one 1946 Bantam ½-ton civilian jeep trailer serial number 5973. This is the standard production model T3-C with 3 ropes hooks along each side and full depth flat panels on both sides of the tailgate. Up front the trailer has a 2 inch ball coupler, a 3-position fold-up parking leg bolted to a new Midwest Military support bracket, and slightly longer and heavier military towing chains I installed when towing it with my 1968 Dodge 1-ton 4x4 truck. Tires are older tube-type 600-16 NDCCs on vented disc steel wheels with plenty of tread; they hold air well. There is one tail/brake light inset in the left rear panel and reflectors on both rear panels. The taillight electrical plug is a small round one with 6 holes.
The top opening is 46” wide by 72” long. The floor is 38” wide by 72” long. The top rail, tail gate, side panels and fenders are perfect. The front panel has some hidden rust in the U channel across its bottom and slight pitting on exterior bottom but still holds water. The floor has surface rust but is very straight with only minimal sagging between the cross members. It has a 1” spot of rust in the left rear corner and a 12 inch long strip of rust out in the right rear corner. The rear tailgate can be closed or held horizontal with its factory correct chains. This is a great little trailer for yard work or light hauling.
