What would one of these sell for today,as delivered from the folks in Denver. if one had one that had been fiberglassed on the interior and wanted to sell it? Hypothetically of course... I remember driving across the country with a few in tow...and also got one from Frank at one time for someone. It's been many moons and I've slept since then so I do not remember who I delivered them to, but do remember one rolling off my trailer at a Cracker Barrel somewhere in one of the mid coast states.. Those were the days, for certain.

I bought one, restored it and wish I had left it alone. It would look great behind my unrestored Greek MB!

Hard to say what one of those would go for today, but I think a restored T-3/MBT has risen in value 35% or greater since then. If you found another container of them had arrived from Switzerland these days I would imagine they'd go for 35% or greater now also...

My brother ended up with mine....and he might want to sell if we can get some sort of idea on a price. It is still exactly as it came from the Swiss ... He was wanting to ask 1800 for it but I think maybe he is a bit high.

Hi F Bill,

I don't know about the Cracker Barrel transfer unless it was across the street from the K-Mart parking lot.

I still appreciate all the effort that went into getting my MBT from coast to coast.

Winter's around the corner, it's headed to the stable for storage.
This is my Swiss return from Frank Paciullo back in 2005 and the pic requested. I bolted on all the NOS MBT parts I had saved for years.
NOS PARTS:
Fenders
Wiring Harness
Slave Cable (NOS w/fabric loom)
Parking Brake Handle and Cable.
Reflectors w/Lead Washers (NOS Arrows w/Grotelite 100 were installed as I ran out of NOS C-B w/Grotelite 100)
A-612 Springs (NOS)
WWII Gabriel Adjustable Shocks
CB Tail Lamps
WWII Lunette
Drain Plug
Valve Stem Protectors
New 600X 16 NDT's

And Much More................Jeep_trailer_002.JPG
Note the flap on the rear of the top, it could be found on either driver's or passenger side. Many of these 5706446 Tops could be found with a sewn on patch under that flap, it is assumed that this was a depot mod, I have seen them either way. The hole was for the exhaust system of the particular Stewart Warner 978 fuel burning heater.

Ben,

I have the same top. I also have the doors and sides curtains. All in new condition. I bought them at the convention in Pleasanton. I just need the support rods and/or a picture of how they look and how they are installed so I can make them. If anyone has the same top I would really like to see a picture of the hardware involved.

I do not have any instructions or even the packing lists for the complete enclosure kit. I did have misc pieces of the hardware years ago but let them go to fellow collectors who needed them. This was long before the internet with its digital cameras and email. The pieces are floating around in the hands of many who cannot ID them.

Hi Joel,
I thoroughly enjoyed this thread. I too got one of the Ex-Swiss Bantam trailers from the importer in Colorado. I restored it back to the WWII configuration but I saved all the Swiss parts removed since it was part of the trailer's history. I did continue to use the smaller Swiss Lunette. They were GREAT trailers at 600.00 plus a hauling fee.

F bill;
I believe you were the one that drove out to Colorado and trailered 5-6 back. We met in St Louis and I picked mine up there from you. I want to thank you again for a perfect deal. like Joel said, basically this was all based on little more than a handshake and an agreement on the "G".

The Dealer in Colorado that initially imported them, told me that when the M100 trailers came to US Bases across Europe around 1951, all the WWII MBT/BT3's were surplused and the Swiss snapped them up. My Swiss Data Plate said 1951. Then they were released and reimported to the US in 2005. The dealer admitted he did NOT know they were US WWII trailers at first when he purchased the initial lot.

It would be interesting to know how many MBT/BT3's were returned from the Swiss during those years.

And the story did not stop with restored MBT's, I even found a customer for the unique NDT tread Swiss 6.00 X 16 tires that I removed. A G503 member was making up a complete set for his Jeep and buying them from trailer owners. The Swiss NDT's have improved tread features over the original GI Issue NDT's. Any G-503 members with those good Swiss 6.00 X 16 NDT's

I do still have those Swiss NDT's! Also the wheels they are on were very similar to the German WWII wheels you see in pictures. I posted pictures of them on the "G" to see if the guys who deal with German WWII stuff could identify them. There were no replys LOL.

The Swiss wheels would look good on a towed cannon project.
