Always loved these local guy has one down the street just sitting there in the open

He had it covered in a barn for few years now back out in open

Tried buying it and he was going to restore it
That was forever ago now!

He bought it for 500.00 or something but since he read online these are not common he thinks it unrestored is worth 20 thousand!

Oh well I️ will keep bugging him!

I just recently bought a 1962 M422A1. Truly a "barn find" in that the person who bought it, got it in the mid 60's at a government sale. He then parked it for the next 50 years and never moved it......until he died. I got it from the estate. It is unmolested and fairly complete. Oh yeah, it will need a lot of work, but it will be worth it. It is actually in pretty good shape. The wiring is good, the body is good, running gear is decent. Engine will need to be gone through, along with most everything else mechanical. Repaint, of course. New tires, etc. I expect to put 6K to 7K into it to make it right. But, that's OK. I paid 2K for it. Restored, I see them going for 12K to 15K. A few are trying to get 18K or better, I don't THINK so!!

Terry, welcome to the Gee! Can you share pictures of your Mite with us? I'm down here in Bonanza, east of K-Falls.

Here is my Mite and trailer

Hi Bill. Down by K-Falls eh? Know the area fairly well. Ever been to Train Mountain RR up in Chiloquin? Anyway, I'm not sure about posting my pictures at the moment, it looks pretty sad, gutted and spread out all over the shop floor. It had been bought by the person's father, right out of the government auction in the mid 60's, then he let it sit unused, un-moving, and un-running for the next 50 years. I bought it from the estate. His daughter and son-in-law had it and decided they didn't want it. It needs total restoration, but I think it will be a fun project. Got to finish the M-43 ambulance first, though.
