Rock Valley has drawings to make Mite fuel tanks.

They specialize in stainless tanks for hot rods. Pricey, but ~same range as NOS mite.
I had this one made without the fording/vent valve or the leak-prone filter access plate for simplicity.
I painted this one in textured urethane, then OD.

The tank was $950 in stainless. My last tank wasn’t salvageable.

There is a 3/8 NPT fitting at the top of each tank. A rubber hose in-between does the cross venting
It installs after the tank is in.

Nice. Mine has a pretty big dent that will be hard to repair. Don't know if it leaks.

Might be easier than you think. The end caps can be removed making it easier to straighten and dents or other issues. Then straighten the end caps and weld it back together. Check your local welding shops you might be surprised.
