Mighty Mite Siblings

Post by Austringer » Fri Dec 09, 2016 9:10 am

I had a running complete unrestored (with thin windshield) M422A1 that I purchased from a local guy back in Jan 2013 and eventually sold to a guy in Alabama in 2013. Last Thursday, I purchased an older, very nicely restored M422A1 (with original thin windshield) from a guy outside of Augusta Ga. Last night i was looking over eWIllys and found my old add for the M422A1 I had in 2013 and saw the serial number was only 2 off from the one I currently own. The unrestored one I had in 2013 is serial number 1484 and the one I have now is 1486 and both had DoDs of 10-16-61. I find that pretty interesting that I have owned two mites that were separated by only 1 Might on the production line.

That is cool! My Willys MB MB369410 had a sibling as well, MB369409. It was a Navy jeep :)

You don't see too many M422A1s with a date in service stamping.
