Restoration progress pictures

Post by Radar4xfour » Sun May 17, 2015 5:12 pm

At the encouragement of Rob Walsh and Mark "MSPETERS" I'm posting a few pictures of my restoration. I'm not done yet but I can see there is end in sight.

Regards,

Radar

Paul,

Your Mite looks fantastic! Great work....

Thanks for sharing....

Another mite comes back from the brink..... seems to be more of this going on these days!!

Excellent !!!

I think seeing these kinds of pictures and work help motivate other "projects in waiting" I know they motivate me...

Quality restorations help bring the mite the respect it's due... and raise the standard...

Thanks!

Rob

Paul,
Is black the correct color for the shrouds and air intake? Is your body color correct? What brand of paint and primer did you use? If your body color is correct, can you send me the paint and primer codes?
Thanks,
Mike

All the air deflectors and fan shroud are a semi-gloss black. I have seen both forest green and semi-gloss black air horns. The color looks good to me although maybe somewhat light. Could just be the lighting. :?:

Mike,

Like Bill stated the shrouds are a semigloss black and is the correct color. The body paint is TM9 Ordnance brand semigloss urethane color matched from a NOS part, the end cap that goes on the windshield frame tube. I purchased the paint prior to TM9 Ordnance being purchased by Midwest Military. Contact John at Midwest, he will be be able to order what you need. If you don't want to paint urethane you will need to use another manufacturer.

Thanks all for the positive comments. If anyone is planning to attend the MVPA convention in Topeka the Mighty Mite and I will be making the trip.

Wow! Flawless!

Looks like a potential Best of Show winner to me!

I wish my Mite was anywhere near that nice.
