Some Handy Mighty Mite Info (PART NUMBERS)
Since NAPA is a nationwide chain, most of the numbers listed are NAPA numbers. Usually other auto parts suppliers can cross reference from these numbers to theirs. This is a handy list to copy and keep with your Mite.

Oil Filter - 1004
Coil - Autolite CT4002 (I do not have a NAPA number for this part)
Points - CS725A
Distributor Cap - Autolite IAU-1048 (no NAPA number)
Condenser - AL869
Rotor - Autolite IAU1066 (NAPA number AL166)

Front axle nut (p/n 3046) Fastenal SKU 36863
(Thanks to Joe S. for the last 6 numbers)
Brake Light Switch (Thanks to Bill H.)
Nobody but nobody offers a brake pressure switch for an M422 Mighty Mite so I did a little research and came up with this number, 5930-00-755-0761. The Mite SL lists it and when I did a compatibility search I found it to be listed as "M151 A-1 Switch, Brake Light, 7064588 5930-00-755-0761". I ordered the switch from Saturn Surplus.

that Rotor number above is totally different than the one in the Might. I got one home last week and its not the same. However when I took the rotor from the Mite in to Napa they matched it. I will look for the number

Thanks, Eddie. I got all the info out of the charts in the Army Vehicle Parts Guide, and their info is incorrect for the rotor.
I went to my local NAPA store and they were not able to come up with an exact match. NAPA apparently has discontinued the correct rotor, but I've updated the list at the top of this thread to include the OEM number so it can be cross-referenced at other parts stores.

Re: Some Handy Mighty Mite Info
Anyone have the numbers for rod bearings and mains? Are NOS okay? I was thinking I should do them since I have the motor torn down for a jug swap anyway. David
Any other spacecraft or missile owners out there?

Re: Some Handy Mighty Mite Info
The original worked for more than 48 years so I would say they're fine.
Still available from a couple of the well mentioned sources here- just ask them nicely if you have bought from them before.
It is better to use std size and have your crank checked after you inspect your bearings for wear patterns. Magnaflux everything crankcase/crank/rods/caps/bolts--EVERYTHING. If your crank needs to be ground - just have it chromed back to specs. not that bad of expense ...dont forget to put in new cam bearings also.
and always-always-always measure.
Remember to keep everything surgically clean before reassembly.

I've seen some new Mite enthusiasts posting here recently, so moving this back to the top for their benefit.

Re: Some Handy Mighty Mite Info (PART NUMBERS)
I see where some of the numbers have brands attached but having the brand is almost a must when going to the corner auto parts house. I would like to see an update or revised list with part numbers, brands and cross reference information. Has anyone done this?

Re: Some Handy Mighty Mite Info (PART NUMBERS)
I've been rebuilding my Mite using this list,And I have to say most of the numbers don't get you far.I have returned most of the parts that I have bought using these numbers.I now just take the old part to my local NAPA and they can usually cross it over.

Should we un-sticky and archive this post, and start a new post with current verified part numbers?

Re: Some Handy Mighty Mite Info (PART NUMBERS)
Maybe,Some of the numbers do work. The battery number is close,But that battery is backwards. Also,The wheel cylinders are the same front and back. So,half of those numbers are incorrect. My NAPA dealer has advised me that they are discontinuing brake part rebuild kits.So you will need to buy new in the near future. Most of the original part numbers do not cross over. This probably has a lot to do with the uniqueness of this vehicle and its short production. Some 60's AMC/International parts do come up in a parts cross,Not sure if they work.I did find a carb rebuild kit that was a exact match and a master cylinder kit that works.I can list #'s if anyone needs them.
