Who will have your jeep ?
O.K. Guys, it will happen one day and we wont be here anymore. Your jeep is left in the garage, so what will become of it ? Have you left it to someone in a will, or promised it to someone ? I hope im around tor a few good years yet, BUT at the moment im at a loss who should have it or put it in a museum, i just dont know. Im due to write a will soon ,so i would welcome any ideas. Unfortunately my kids dont share my passion for jeeps.

I hope my Wife will sell all my Jeeps and MBT trailers to fund a nice vacation getaway for herself.

Re: Who will have your jeep ?
Happy thoughts
That’s kind of weird as I was thinking this only the other day. I have 5 Grandkids, 4 of them boys; they all love the Jeep, so probably one of them. Time and their attitude will most likely decide which one, or maybe I’ll ask to be buried in mine

Well my lad is not too interested and nor is the Mrs, SO I'm gonna get buried in it. That will make the grave diggers think for a bit. Want to be sat in the passenger seat in uniform and have someone drive the jeep into the hole and then they can back fill. That will make a very interesting archiological dig in a few hundred years.

# 2 son... he and and his son are interested and will take care of it I hope.
He is on the left.
I always say if you have no one in the family interested to sell it to someone that is as museum agendas change...
I do know one guy that was going to give it to a museum and his grandson a few years later was showing quite an interest which changed everything,

You must be proud of your sons Mark. Serving their country makes them heroes in my book.

That will not be a problem for me as I plan on living for ever, and so far I'm right.
Mark,
You can't beat a Marine family, I know your very proud, and should be.

This is sad to hear, Mark! I don't have any kids yet, but hoping that when I do they share the same passion as me!

I know Sean, its sad,but my Grandkids are showing a real interest, that gives me hope. Ideally you want your jeep to stay in your family.

Re: Who will have your jeep ?
If a family member is interested that seems the happiest solution, unless several are-and we all know what that can mean.
When none in the family are interested I think selling while you can still have a say in things is best IMO...
That sure beats the image of your wife or children THANKING someone for 'giving' them 20 cents on the dollar of its fair market value. At least let a family member know what it's worth at a timely point...
As for museums...consider that while some are respectable, others are merely so-called...and are receiving points for pickers who pose as 'curators'...

We have no children, but do have 22 nieces and nephews. They will most likely get the pleasure of fighting over the military collection (over 5,000 items to date).
The Jeep on the other hand is a little more "complex".

The WW II veteran gave it to me with the stipulation that I would keep it here in town and "show it off". We don't have any family here in town (or even close), so I needed to find someone that would take it at the appropriate time and continue with Bud's desires. I did find someone.
He graduated from High School this Spring, is a member of the CAP and an overall fantastic individual - coming from a wonderful family. I cleared it with his parents and then spoke with him about it at the Veteran's Day Service at the High School. He was the emcee.
I have a big ol' pile of parts to install before the BA-DA BA-DA Bing Bang Rally in May. I asked him to help me and he was quite enthused at the idea. Good thing my garage is heated.
