SS President Coolidge

Post by 1943Willysgpw » Wed Sep 13, 2017 2:28 pm

I don't know if this has been posted before but, I would love to go cut a hole in this ship and bring up the jeeps. I know they are shot but, I could be the only honest person to say......"I have a jeep in a crate!" lol. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhPILTi0BWE

Oh, and I wish when they showed a "Willys jeep", they would have had the sense to show the MB instead.

The tires may still be good.
They haven't been exposed to much sunlight, and by looking at the jeep's sheet metal, the combat wheels probably won't put up much of a fight.

The Coolidge is a protected wreck and as such you can take only pictures and leave only bubbles...

Many of these wrecks provide a scuba diver's paradise which brings tourist dollars to the remote Pacific islands...more of them can be found in Truk Lagoon (Chuuk Lagoon these days).

Oh, come on. Like I could even afford a ticket to get there. Let alone the diving certifications and boat rental... :D :D :D :D I was merely living in the fantasy....

Yeah, but some guy who is planning on a dive trip to the Pacific may get the brilliant idea to stash a few "mementos" in his wet suit he can then put on ebay or something...better to clear the air about those wrecks...
