Wartime shortages also resulted in pennies minted from steel in 1943, and from a shell casing alloy in 1944 & 1945. While plastics, Bakelite and other materials were trialed, there is no research supporting production of any rubber-based pennies. Re: Chronology of the Jeep Seat
It's been a while, no one else but Paolo has offered an accurate set of late MB Seat Cushion Set (W/Springs and accurate tags). Paolo is still the way to go. They are an exact match to the Cleveland tagged cushion set that I installed NOS years ago. The set of Paolo seat cushions is now on my MB, the original set is now stored away as spares for use on a future project

Re: Chronology of the Jeep Seat
Another member on the Gee posted this photo a while back - appears to show a zipped back seat cushion filled with foam rubber material - in another image the zip pull looked like a Talon.

Re: Chronology of the Jeep Seat
I have just tracked the original thread - sorry don't know how to do a link so don't ask - on 26 sept 2010 cushion contained springs, foam rubber, burlap, and a blanket - plus Talon zip as previously mentioned. More info maybe forthcoming (pm?)
