They are for sale in EU and again they are an excellent replica, approved even bij Carter patent holders. Just to new which is obvious and so making them appear a bit different then originals. But with some wear you will not see much differences in the future. Only on the base 407 stamp. If you need to choose for a rebuilt or a brand spanking new one the choice is easy, can you find an NOS one then go for original.

Ron has them on order but will they ever come in? And at what price are they going to be? I going to guess around $399.00. Replica or not, I'm more concerned on how they are going to run.

At last report there were about 15 slight mfg differences between Carter and JMP. I think they are made in China. Word has it they are not tested after assembly, probably because of shipping issues associated with gas fumes so those with "issues" can and do slip by. Bummer to buy one that has "issues" you need to adjust or repair right out of the box.

QUALITY CONTROL and China don't always go in the same sentence.

Otherwise....if you have no carb, it will work OK and passes the "six-foot test" once any problems are sorted out.

As a famous man once said "Don't buy the first ones and don't buy the last ones!"

All,
we are hoping to get some to the convention, if we can.
If not, Ron should have some at the end of this month at the latest.
Chuck, there seems to be a lot of speculation about the carbs, reading your replies , if you are unsure of the facts, just ask.
We have been Gee members for a few years now and have been working on the carbs with a few select dealers for the last 2 years.
We did send out a batch of 20 first off carbs, worldwide to all the our dealers , for the feedback and views, which resulted in considerable changes to the production run. I suspect, Chuck , this is one that you have seen, or you may have seen one of the reports we had come back from the USA dealers on the carbs.
You are correct they are made in China. But they are made in a factory that produces big carbs for the American hot rod market and other European OEM brands.
Thanks

I, for one, withhold any judgement until we have photos of the latest and greatest reproduction WO carb! :D

Photos are great, but.....I would love to be able to do a side-by-side analysis to see if the second batch of JMP/Carter 539s have addressed the issues found in the early run. Yes, we are splitting hairs here, but as with all reproduction items the question is how close to the original can they be made and what percentage of the buyers out there even give a hoot.

I think it will end up much like the question of using a repop tub or not. Should you repair your original tub or go with a repop? The original being "original" and the repop having various manufacturing differences that are not that hard to find if one knows what to look for. I've seen some miraculous restored tubs and I've seen some jeeps with repop tubs that had nothing done to them to "fix" the differences. That makes a difference to some guys and not to others. Probably the same with Carter vs. JMP/Carter 539S carbs!

Has anyone had a chance to examine the Joe's Motor Pool F-marked pintle hitch? The eBay ads claim that it is forged steel, not cast steel.

For what era GPW would they best fit in?

Most reputable Pintle hitch manufactures today are making them with the drop forge method as the cast units are questionable for abuse and liability. Or at least the bottom jaw anyway.

Even when restoring old carbs you must be glad with these reproductions. Every part is interchangable and so there will be plenty throttle base again. No need to bush old ones!

And for the quality, most know I restored a lot originals so I can and have judged the replica over here. They are to expect excellent and only minor details will be different. Good to determine later on when parts mix up. (I don't have any relation to the seller so this is just my opinion.)

And another benefit is that the hoarded original carbs will come to the market again for more decent prices.

Just wonderful! Maybe the price of cores will fall. And if you don’t want those nasty old worn out throttle flanges, you can send them to me. I’ll be glad to take them off your hands.

For us owners of WWII post war equipped W.O Carter carb jeeps, true they are not original to the jeep, but at least they are a USA Carter Manufactured item. Would have to state that the Joe's Motor Pool repro does look great though.

Hi All,
we managed to get a few to Danny @joes motor pool at the MVPA convention in Ohio, yesterday evening.
You are all welcome to go over to the stall over the next days and see for yourself, handle them , compare them and make you own mind up.
Thanks

JMP fuel pumps sure look nice! I stopped by their table yesterday at the convention. Actually all the JMP stuff looks nice. Kudos to them.

I have been running a Joe's pump now and have about 2,000 miles on it. Highway up to 64mph, off road crawling steep hills and off camber. Hot and cold weather. It has run flawless! I strongly recommend them. Plus I have found their service outstanding.
