1970 Postal Jeep Dj5 questions

Post by 1970airforcepostal » Fri Dec 30, 2016 6:33 pm

Hey everyone.

New to the board. Thank you for the information. I know it's not what you guys have but I am told this DJ5 came off of a Air Force base possibly in Europe. Do any of you have pictures of DJ's that were used in any military setting regardless of the branch.

Thank you!

I've seen photos of later AM General DJ-5s in Air Force livery and was told by a vet that they used to run around the flight line in one with the rear windows removed. He said it made it easy to pick up tools out of the back. I have a 1970 DJ-5A (last of the Kaiser Jeep built ones with the proper number of slots on the grill) but it clearly was from the Post Office. Interestingly it is a left hand drive though. Is yours right or left hand drive? I've heard from only a couple hundred to as few as twenty five were built left hand drive that year?
