Willys MB unknown#(estimated around 197500) restoration
I'm starting the restoration of my late december 42 MB, the frame tag is missing but the body number is 99471
The frame is reinforced and welded in the front and rear, i think that it worked on a quarry or in other place where it was very abused.
this is the body (ACM type 1), it is very "smashed" but is not too much rusted
the body got a bullet hole on the dash, but i don't know if it was made during the war or later

Boy! In picture # 3 in the back ground is one wicked looking fan. I would hurt myself real quick working around that.
Nice jeep project.
In picture # 6 what kind of coupe is that behind the jeep body?

Looks like a fun project! The body sitting on that old Model T frame looks cool with the wire wheels! Good luck and post lots of pictures of your progress.

The car behind The jeep is my Hot Rod Project, chevy frame with a German Ford truck cab.rjbeamer wrote:Boy! In picture # 3 in the back ground is one wicked looking fan. I would hurt myself real quick working around that.

Re: Willys MB unkn# restoration
the frame is almost ready, all the reinforcements were removed and the rivets were changed to bolts, the shock mounts were changed as well
in the front the two frame rails and the bumper gussets had to be replaced by new ones.

Re: Willys MB unkn# restoration
The rolling chassis is ready, tomorrow i'm going to take it home and probably in one or two months it will be running without the body.

Re: Willys MB unkn# restoration
Today i put the body in the frame, it isn't bolted yet because most of the body mounting holes are rusted (some holes are as large as 1")
rear view, the other jeep is my dad's 1952 cj3a
the windshield frame is a cj2a one(the willys script is barely visible in this picture), since it is almost impossible to find a MB one in Brazil
i hadn't noticed yet but both of my rear axle shafts came out of a gpw

The springs are early CJ2-A ones that came with the jeep, since they are in good shape i decided to keep them.Tim Kline wrote:And your springs...
