Pitting.lt.luke wrote:Downsize parts Claude? If you're putting is bad, the cylinders might need to be over bored and sleeved with stainless. If the GP cyclone era are different then Jeep ones, it may be worth it.lawcdw wrote:Well the soak lasted a month and a half, with no interruptions.I pulled them out let them drain for a bit. With a few wacks from a hammer and a brass punch,on each end. Both of them freed up with no problems,I could even move the Pistons back and forth with little effort. There is some pitting in the center area, none in the area where the rubber and piston travel. But very nice shape otherwise,Picts as soon as I can figure out how to down size them.Forward March !!!!!!!!! And thanks Danny.
Claude, you can probably downsize your pics by right clicking and messing with the properties. If that doesn't work it gets more complicated. If you are taking them on a smart phone and emailing them to yourself to post from a computer, email them in "medium" or "small" resolution and they SHOULD post without modification.

Re: GP Rebuild in the Great Wide Open
Yes Danny you are correct.I take Picts with my smart phone then load them on my computer. Then to post Picts on the G,I have to make them smaller. This has never been an issue before, but now when I pull up my Picts for some reason they show up in a large black border. And I can't figure out where to click to start the down size process.Very Very disappointed,as I would love to show progress.I have never seen the black border format before, and can't figure out how to get the computer to get rid of it.Just to clear the record, the GP front wheel cylinders has a little pitting in the very center of them.Same area where the bleeder hole is located.I am going to get a couple of rebuild kits, rebuild them and put them back on.

Front diff has been back from the shop about two weeks. I had them replace the bearings and races, for the cluster and output shaft. Then the set the preload, end play as well as install the inner axle seals.I have installed all the other componets, with the exception of the Knuckle Seals.Still looking for the Rezeppa style.

lawcdw,
It's been over a year, any updates?
I completely understand life and work getting in the way, hope everything is OK with you, family, and the GP.
