Enormous Pearl Harbor movie banner!
I have this banner hanging in my shop. It seems to be a favorite with anyone visiting, certainly because of it's size, as well as the subject matter. Size is 7 1/2 feet tall by 17 feet wide. Not one to fit in your living room at that size! This was a promotional banner for the movie Pearl Harbor and May 25, 2001 was the release date for that movie. I'm sure it probably was made in limited quantities and was meant to hang outside of some of the larger theatres...
I'm not much of a fan of the movie, as most of the people in it are too "cutesy" and it's mostly a love story, but I do like this banner. No movie star names on it, just a great picture of Japanese planes going over a school grounds in route to bomb our ships at Pearl Harbor.

Although I had to put my super heavy duty WWII movie "goggles" on for this one, the poster is very cool. What a great addition to your shop. Can't be too many of those around.

Here's a small version of that picture that was probably in the lobby of the theatre.

Like you Steve, I think it is a great poster, the movie didn't do much for me.

John,
I waited patiently for that movie to come out, thinking it was going to be a really good depiction of the events surrounding the attack on Pearl Harbor...............what a let down that was! I can't even watch it now. It did leave this banner in it's wake, so it wasn't a total loss!

Steve, Couldn't agree more, I didn't go much on the movie & I have no poster to compensate.

Nice Posters. I thought Pear Harbor was a great movie for the entertainment value. Hollywood movies are made to entertain and make money, not so much to be totally historically correct. Watch the original War films to see the correct coverage.

Great looking banner. I remember that particular scene in the movie. Really cool with the kids playing and then turning around to see the planes.

I actually have another of these huge banners NOS in the long box it was shipped to the theater in. I may wind up selling it, as the one hanging in my shop still looks perfect after 10 years so I probably won't ever need the second one.
