I Think I have been going about this all wrong... When I bought the jeep, it came with a spare motor. The seller was vague on the motor in the jeep, only mentioning that I should use the spare.. I didn't want to go through the hassle of swapping the powerpack, so I tried replacing all the parts of the current motor. Now I see that the current motor is shot and unless I replace every part piece by piece, I'll have problems over time.... So, I'll start swapping the good parts back on the spare motor, pull the original one and swap it with the spare. I like the idea of rebuilding the original motor... I've never done it before and this is small and manageable, might be a good first attempt.

You can get an engine hoist at Harbor Freight for right around a hundred bucks. They show 150 here but they are always on sale for around 100.00. I use mine for all kinds of heavy lifting. Bottom of the page.
