Re: CMD Body Panels for M 151
CMD update! The bead roller should be here by the end of the week. I've never used one before so we'll do some sample rear fender supports as we might have to add material to compensate for the bead work. Also, dug out the NOS dash that I've had (Thanks Buddy!) here for well over a year as the bead roller gives us a way to accurately manufacture this part. I made one for my A1 so the design work is basically done. In the attached pictures I've laid a piece from my A1 over the NOS dash (I'll assume it's an A2) as I wanted to see if the bead and offset are the same. They match up pretty good so looks correct to me.
We'll make a die set to match the profile. Already had the part scanned!

Re: CMD Body Panels for M 151
Part update: Making (6) sets of A2 rear side panels. Also have the straight 151 rear fender supports at the laser and the A1 passenger side is at programming. Not impressed with the bead roller we bought as I'm now being told that the metal in the area of the bead needs to be hit with a plenishing hammer first. Funny they didn't say that when I purchased the roller. Thinking about modifying the tooling to compensate for the bow. We'll see...

Re: CMD Body Panels for M 151
I would say it's an option down the road. As Rick pointed out, I believe there are NOS parts available. I'm focusing on full side panels, Dash, under body parts, floors under gas tank and tool box at some point, etc, etc, etc.snipertn wrote:Do you guys now or have planed in the future make replacement front fenders for the M151A2 ?

Re: CMD Body Panels for M 151
Here is the first set of 151 fender supports with the stiffener beads. Because of the flanges / bends around the beads the results were better than expected based on previous samples. We'll get into the A1 passenger side next week. I've sent out a request for quote for a progressive rib tool (C1 Laser) for the Dash Bead as the hand bead roller will not be able to duplicate to the level of quality I want.

Re: CMD Body Panels for M 151
Here is the first "correct" A1 passenger side fender support. Need to make a fixture for holding the bottom flange angle and complete the prints. I also added some material to the top flange where the fender sits. We did the ribs on our bead roller but I think I'm going to make a die for the press brake. Was trying to avoid having to make tooling but I'm not a big fan of the bead roller. Would be a nice tool to have at home to use on occasion but not for what we need. One more part off the list.

Re: CMD Body Panels for M 151
Here is the first "finished" set of A1 rear fender supports. Top flange has been extended 1/2" over what mine measured. I think we made around 5 sets at this time and I still have to come up with a price. This set is on it's way to Michigan!
