Dustin,
good to see you here once more....and with an M151, too! I'm sure you'll have plenty to talk about in the new year.

Nice and crusty A1. That recovery should be fun! Ken I am surprised you have not asked for the body tag yet!

Thanks Ken and everyone. This is going to be a long term project. My son and I are working on restoring his 1942 MB currently. I plan on just gathering the parts I will need as time permits. This most definitely will not be a two year year project. I am however going to work on getting it into a rolling chasis so it can be easily moved. Thanks to everyone. Will keep you all posted.

Arrival and first photo. So much potential. Uncut to boot. Ken, original data plate is gone but the BUDD tag is there still. Will post a photo of that next.

Hello Dustin,

here's some information about your A1. It's a Ford-built M151A1, delivered May 1967 and built under Contract DA20-113-AMC-07507-(T)-(MYP).
If it was delivered to the Army, it probably would have had a hood number in the region of 2P 1xxx.

Hope this helps........ :D

Looks like an original and rare "Rainman" hood. I don't know if you have been around long enough to understand that one Dustin but I know Ken get's it.  Gas tank looks good from the bottom but in the original pic it was facing up and wide open, how is the inside? I would also worry about the underneath with it sitting on it's belly in the dirt.

Serious progress has been made with 8 hours of work. I have Uninstaller the front end assembly from the parts Mutt, removed and installed both rear wheel assemblies onto my M151A1 and have the front end assembly lined up ready to be installed first thing tomorrow morning. All these parts are coming off an A2. For now that is fine. But I will eventually convert everything back to A1 in due time. My goal here is to get a rolling chasis first. Once that's accomplished, then it's on to the next piece which is gathering parts and body work in between all that.

The way those front fenders are rusted it looks like there was a fire in there but the strange part is no damage on the cowl. Somebody trying to do some bad bodywork?

That is a possibility, grass growing under the fenders will be thick and burn hot.
