uploading [ictures to Surfacezero

Post by ghiltgen » Tue Aug 08, 2017 6:10 am

Can some help me with instructions on how to upload my jeep pictures to surfacezero? I registered, I can log in but no instructions came to my email as to how to do this.

Thanks,
Greg

Hello Greg,

Same thing for me, but .......no option there to upload pics once registered and logged in.

I found a super easy way to post pictures. :D :D :D

Using my I-phone, I take a pic, email pic to my own email account, download it, and save it on my home computer.
Now the simple part is ... on G503, not even using surface zero,
when you want to "make a post" just generate the topic, write a message, like normal, and to post a pic, then
click on the "attachments" box, right below your message area,
then click on "add files" . It goes right to your saved files, and you can select pictures on your computer to post.
Then you can double click on your saved pic on your computer, that will put in to the message generating area
then another little box comes up, and says ..." place inline " click on that and it automatically inserts the picture in your message body.
Hit the preview box to see how it looks, then hit submit to post.

Way easier than ever before in my opinion !!!!

But ..... when you send your phone pic to your email account, then save it on your home computer, make sure you send it in "medium size" via email,
as there is a size restriction to post it on g503.

They still come out great !!

You can stack many pics right after each other.

Here is a test pic of my M-2 halftrack :

Okay, I will try to assist. May or may not help or make sense, but I will give it a go:

To upload a photo to G503 go to the site and register like it sounds most have. It should look like this before one logs in. If not, the rest of this likely will not make any sense:
G503 01.JPG
G503 01.JPG (99.39 KiB) Viewed 2932 times
Once logged in, it should look like this where one can select "my albums." Click on that. Next click on "create new album" and name it for what project you want. I don't believe you have to create an album, but if one does not the photos may be mixed together:
G503 03.JPG

Hopefully, one can still see the "upload photos" link. Select that. Mine is already set up, so it may look a tad different:

One to this screen use the drop down window and select the album that was created. I have selected the "1943 Willys MBT Trailer" folder that I have. Next select the "Choose File" button and grab the photo of your choice from your computer.
G503 04.JPG

Once you have chosen your file select the "Upload/Submit" button:
G503 05.JPG

Then select the "Process" button which will upload the photo(s):

If any of the above makes sense to anyone, I would move forward and show how to post the photos from this site to the G503. We'll see how it goes.

Hello Zeph,

We seem to be having an issue after registering and logging in, the page you show that has "upload photos" option,
does not appear anywhere, after we log in.

Maybe since we are newly registered, things may have changed or haven't quite been tweaked at the host for new members, or it takes a lot of
time to process all the new registrants.

I have been able to post directly, from my computer saved pics, to the 503 via the attachments button below when writing a reply .

Since photo bucket has destroyed themselves, they must be nuts, or have a real moron/ flunky as a CEO !!!

Hello,

I am also thinking this new version of the great g503 website has the new tools built right in to the posting section to simplify things.
Whoever did this, my compliments !!

It seems to be a flawless process and very smooth ! :D :D :D

Ray

Hi Ray,

Yes, I agree that the new G503's photo posting process when adding photos is a bit better than what it used to be. Plus, it now shows the whole photo without the scroll feature that I used to get in order to see the entire photo.

Well done! Now if the new G503 was in OD, all would be right with the world.

Regards,
Zeph

Thanks Zeph and Ray,
I started the post because I cant upload off my computer desk top any longer for unknown reasons, I assumed it was the G503 upgrade was the reason. I used to do it the same way Ray outlined. The FAQ sections states that photos can only be uploaded from another website. I thank you for walking me thru the G503 photo data base (surface zero) process. I hope I can get to work now!

Can anyone help me?

I do not have a MY ALBUMS button, nor an UPLOAD button.

I see no way to upload pictures to this site. It seem lots of folks use it, but I can't seem to figure it out. I have looked under each tab and linkable link, but no dice. What am I doing wrong.

My screen looks just like the ones in this thread, but no MY ALBUMS or MY PHOTOS choice

Does it say Login successful when you log in? What are the buttons on top saying?

If you'd like, send an image to my email (click the button under my username) and I'll try to troubleshoot it for you.

Hello Rick,

It appears that the Surface Zero system doesn't operate like it once did, and still does for older registrants.

So..... If you can take a photo and save it on your computer, you can then very easily post it here.
I take photos with my I-Phone, email it as a "medium sized" photo to my email account. ( That is the max size that G503 can host using their system)
Once I am at my computer, and into my email account, I click on the emailed message's photo, and when I do, it asks if I want to download it to my computer. I click on that option. It then downloads it to somewhere on my computer.

Now that is complete, then go to G503.com and post a reply, write up your reply or topic of interest, and then if you look just below the area you are typing, you will see "Options - Attachments" click on the " Attachments" button. Once you do that, you will see an "Add Files" little box, click on that.
Once you do that it will open up a window on your computer files area, you can then look for the "downloads" section, click on that, then once you see the picture you just downloaded to your computer, click on it. ( Again, make sure you sent it as a medium pic size from your phone or camera !)
Once you do that, right below this area you are writing your message in, you will see a box that says " place inline" , click on that, and it will automatically place your picture "inline" in your message right here.

You will see a an "attachmentjpeg line" appear in your once you do that, not the picture, then hit the preview button, and you will see your picture
inline, and then you can hit the "submit" button, and all will be well and your picture will be posted here. You can post one, or more in the same fashion on your post.

Good Luck,

Ray

Thanks for the help.

Apparently my account is not verified. I am supposed to get an email to confirm it. But I have never received an email. Checked spam and inboxes etc, and nothing.

Re registered with a different handle, and same result. NO emails.

So, I guess its either broke, or I am clueless.

Your not nuts, it's happening to me as well. The email never comes to finish the registration process. Thus the upload button never shows up when you relog in. I also have tried to tell gin with a different UN and the like but nothing seems to work correctly. Hopefully some with better tech skills can work it out.
