MB in Belgium
Here is my MB, Purchased rusty but relatively complete
the restoration was complete, chassis repair, broken rivets, beam bending, etc.
all mechanical parts redone, motor blocked, axles, gear box.
many parts Ford, front axles, gear box, seat, steering, pistons, cramshaft, propeller shaft, headlight, all these pieces are put on the jeep making a REAL mix
I am looking for people with a MB with a chassis number close to mine.
Chassis number: 239886
registral original numbers discovered after pickling: 20341510
best regards

Re: MB in Belgium
I would say almost certainly an ex-British army Jeep, down to the cut-away door panels - I have seen others that were pretty much identical, and seem to have been a modification to either/both accommodate doors or to allow a high-ranking officer to alight at parades more gracefully than would otherwise be the case.
Beautifully restored, but a shame you didn't keep the other Brit features such as the relocated blackout markers.

Re: MB in Belgium
after the jeep ..... the trailer of course.
during its recovery the chassis had a hook and reinforcements such as tandem trailer, socket was not present.
the body of the trailer is completely rebuilt,
full frame, spring and wheels are the original ones
the plate is an original, no markings found, is one willys mbt
still finishes and it is good to roll

Re: MB in Belgium
stick you a piece of lumber under those batteries- its not so healthy leaving them on concrete like that. dont remember why at the moment, but it does make a difference in them losing their charge.

Hi Prestone,
Could you post a photo of the frame serial number tag ? Hood number 20341510 looks to have had a frame serial number close to 249886 rather than 239886 as in your above post.

Beautiful work on both the jeep and the trailer!! You have every right to be very proud of your finished products!! I'm glad to see you taking them out on the road too so others can enjoy your handiwork. Congrats again on an outstanding job on both!

Re: MB in Belgium
Hi,
didn't you have any issuesplacing the struts for the extra pintle.
I resored my original MBT with tandem setup but at first just for being a trailer.
This year i will make it a tandem again.
Only issue is that the strut interfears with the rear bolt of the spring hanger.
My trailer had some reinforcement plates welded on the frame to place the rear spring hanger 3"further back to clear the tamdem strut and place longer (jeep rear) springs.

Re: MB in Belgium
Prestone….
Any chance you can post a close-up pic of the original Data Plate and do you know what the ACM number is under the left front spring hanger bracket is?
I'm guessing it is a Sept/Oct 1943 DOD and the ACM number in the 75,xxx range. Serial Number around 73,xxx or 74,xxx. That would be based on the USA number (0244292) you are using. All this would help me estimate missing info for other 1/4 Ton Trailer owners.
If you have the same or some of the same info on the trailer in the background, I would appreciate that as well!
Thanks!
