Securing ammo boxes on the handcart
I have never liked how the ammo boxes are able to slide around on the handcart even when the straps are pulled down tight. So I decided to make a small wooden box with a bar across the front to keep the ammo boxes secure when moving the cart. It is fairly simple, using a 1 x 6 piece of wood. I know it's not period correct, but with the green paint it fits in fairly well. And the pocket it creates under tripod leg is a good place to store small items.

Nice. Looks official painted green....most would be none the wiser. I was annoyed by the same thing, so I'll be borrowing your idea.

I see your spare parts box, the water chest, the condenser hose in canvas and AA extension, but what is the box in the lower left and the box under the condenser hose?
Thanks for commenting on my little project.

After getting rid of photobucket, I've not had any luck with posting pictures....what are you using? I'm trying Imgur now. I,don't like it.
The box under the hose I believe is the belt loader. I can't remember what the other is....

You can attach pics directly here on G503 now. There's an attachment tab at the bottom of the page when you post. I also use pisasa to reduce the size of a typical pic from the 2-4 MB down to 100-200 KB
Here's a pic from a long time ago, when I first got it together.

I really like your idea and will borrowing it. Who's to say some enterprising Sgt. didn't come up with something similar at some point?

Re: Securing ammo boxes on the handcart
I too can never get ammo boxes to fit right. Kinda clumsy when trying to do a display and such. Here is a loaded one with some ideas of what to put in a cart for displaying. This one was pictured at Camp Ripley Mn.
