I bought the castle nuts off ebay because they matched the specs and I presumed I would need some when I rebuilt my cart. What I did not anticipate was how difficult it would be to find the correct screws. I have 6 of the 10 1" long screws that are in good shape. The other 4 are ruined. I have none of the correct longer screws.

I appreciate your machinist friend stepping up and taking on this project. My quandry is the question why am I looking at approaching $80 to $100 for the "correct" screws and nuts, and the parkerizing I'll have to do to the nuts (wish they came parkerized!); when I can buy the correct lengths of coarse threaded screws and nuts for much less. At the end of the day, who will even know!!

One suggestion. If you have access to a media blaster/sandblaster you can blast the nuts to a mat finish and use gun blue to darken them. A friend of mine did that to restore a garand bayonet. When he showed it to me I would have swore that the blade was parkerized. Another option is to just buy enough of the correct bolts to replace your bad ones to save money. Again, if you mix coarse and fine thread bolts in different locations, who would know.

NOW HAVE M3A4 HAND CART TRUSS HEAD BOLTS AVAILABLE FOR SALE. I now have a very small quantity of reproduction truss head bolts available in all four sizes used on the M3A4 hand cart. Each bolt has been individually cut on a CNC machine with the correct 24NF threads and has been parkerized to a wartime finish. Bolts are $4.00 each, or a complete set of 16 for $60.00, plus postage. PM me with your request, payment by PayPal.

Huge shout out to Paul Wida ( Av8er ) for the work he did to reproduce the correct truss head slotted screws. Here is a pic of the screws as delivered, and a few other misc. parts needed for my hand cart. The hub cap and gaskets are also from Paul. The castle nuts are from the ebay vendor Ddayquartermaster1944. When purchased they are bare steel, NOT parkerized as shown here.

Thanks again Paul!! Can't wait to start re-assembly!

Bonjour Jean,
Both nuts and bolts are currently out of stock. I will be ordering more from the machinist shortly. I will notify you when they are available. Refresh my memory, did you have me ship them to an address in the US the last time?

Please standby, I will get back to you shortly. I was advised that the machinist was going to ship the next batch of nuts and bolts to me today. Once I receive them I will still need to parkerize them before making them available. They should be ready for shipment in the next couple of weeks. Thanks.
