steering box compatability
Is a steering box from a CJ2A compatible with a M38a1?

Re: steering box compatability
The sector shaft from the 2A is slightly smaller in diameter than the M-38A1 shaft. The civvy steering is less heavy-duty than the military item. It should bolt in but it's not ideal.
Is it true real Jeeps have flat fenders?

The CJ-2A tube and worm are shorter. If you can find a CJ-5, it would be better. The 50's CJ-5 uses the same sector shaft as MB/CJ-2A/CJ-3A, but have a longer tube and worm.
