M38 Early fuel, oil pressure and coolant temp were used with an external 95 Ohm resistor on each. You should specify the part numbers you want. :wink:

Do you need an AC Speedometer? I have the original issue for the M-38. I may have original M-38 AC Guages with Douglas connectors for the oil pressure and Fuel.
Remember, the original guages for M-38 were luminous.

How can I tell if the engine on my M-38 is original or a Cj engine?
Thanks;
Gruntmedic
It has a ;ot of original stuff on it;but has been stripped of the starter and carb.

The majority of production M38's used casting # 641087 and were serialed MCXXXXX or RMCXXXXX (factory new replacement engines) At the very end of M38 production in Jun 1952 the 804380 casting appeared and serial were MCXXXXXX or RMCXXXXXX.

Late CJ2A's had 641087 castings but they were serialed JXXXXXX or RJXXXXXX and CJ3A's had 641087 castings that were serialed 3JXXXXX or 3RJXXXXXX.

The only way to prove a 641087 casting or an 804380 casting was originally installed in an M38 is for it to have a MCXXXXX or MCXXXXXX serial number. RMCXXXXX or RMCXXXXXX could have been installed in just about any military unit that used the L134 by the owning service or later owners.

You need to buy, and read, the M38 book.
