And there was a bulletin in the TM's that changed the tire pressures, early M-38 and M-38A1 Jeeps had them over stamped per the change.

Sorry for the late reply 4 years later!! I still have the M38 plates in my jeep. I also found out that it's going to be a pain to get the title changed. But what I can do, I can take the M38 plates mount it in the glove box and get a new set of correct data plates. Which is what I plan on doing. Since then I've found one of my jeeps older brothers two counties over. It's an Aug/52 built MD17011. So only 407 away from mine!Cuz wrote:MD17418 on your patent plate is the correct serial for your M38A1 making it a Sep 1952 M38A1. As Joel said above the dash plate is an M38 plate. I'd suggest you trash can the M38 plate and stamp a new proper M38A1 dash serial plate to match the patent plate. I hope this doesn't get you in trouble with the DMV office if your title says MD53184.
