Antenna Mount for Spare Tire Mount
Anyone know about this, name etc.... I've had this for at least 20 years. I took it off a rough M38A1 back in the late 1990s

Re: Antenna Mount for Spare Tire Mount
The metal angle seems to have been fabricated. The top part looks well finished. But I have never seen that before. Kinda resembles a sugar scoop but not exactly.

Re: Antenna Mount for Spare Tire Mount
It's original. I removed it from the spare tire mount on a M38A1. The M38A1 it was removed from was all original paint etc and was out of Albany USMC Logistics Base.

I thought you were referring to the AB-449 which is what I have on my M38A1. Which looks like this.

Re: Antenna Mount for Spare Tire Mount
Make sure you get the correct mount. There are two styles of AB-449/G mount. The M38 mount did not have spacers and the M38A1 has spacers. Just FYI.SLee wrote:Hello I was looking for a AB-449/G M38 M38A1 Spare Tire Military Antenna Mount

Re: Antenna Mount for Spare Tire Mount
I picked one up on Ebay supposedly for an M38A1 radio jeep. It is Air Force blue. I have the hardware etc for it and has the angled shims welded to the back to tip it away from the top. I was going to run it on my M38 but it isn't the correct mount that It should have. I will try to post images.

Re: Antenna Mount for Spare Tire Mount
Pics. If anybody's interested in it, I would sell it for what I have in it. Not quite what I need for my M38.
