Differences in side curtains/doors for M38 vs M38A1

Post by w30bob » Fri Mar 17, 2017 6:42 am

Hi Guys,

I don't see any difference between the side curtains for an M38A1 and an M38, at least by the pics I see online. But the part numbers are different, so I assume there are differences. If I run across some while scavenging and there's no part number on it........how do I know if it's for an M38 or the A1? Same question for the doors. Do any of these parts interchange?

Thanks,
bob

Hi Guys,

Ok, I scored a box of NOS side curtains at Aberdeen, but the box is marked M38/M38A1. I know the M38A1 curtains are longer...........but can someone give me a number so I can measure and see what I've got?

thanks,
bob

I can measure the a1 curtains in the morning when I get home if nobody can do it for you tonight.

I just received some from a member here That appear to be original or very nice nice reproductions (thanks again John) These are 39 in. wide and 30" high ( canvas size approx.) I haven't installed them yet but intend to shortly. They look correct.

Hmmmm...........first one out of the box was 29H x 41W at the widest (bottom under the straps). I'll measure the rest when I get back in.

The ones I just received (NOS winter enclosure kit - bought from the same seller as Gary) are 39"W x 29"H. I know mine shrank a little bit because after they were installed overnight I had to tighten the straps. Same with the doors - they were scary tight when I closed them for the first time and are fine now.
