Last picture isn't Battle of the Bulge.....it is Normandy and fairly early on.

I think Chuck is right. I've got many jeep pictures and maybe I made a mistake while downloading.

Hello chaps,

There are some wonderfull pictures on this forum. These ones especially caught my eye. There has already been some discussion regarding the forth picture down. Looking down the line of vehicles the fith vehicle in the line is a Bedford MW, it is the early aeroscreen type. So i guess this must have been the bulge? i don't think bedfords make it to korea, but i'll be gladly proven wrong.

I've been looking at that 4th picture as well, and I'm convinced it's a USMC column in Korea, not US Army in WWII. I say this because of the pile caps being worn and the style of lettering on the 1st jeep appears to be more in a USMC style than US Army style.

Here's a site about the Bedford MW: http://www.imperialchina.co.uk/militarybedford.htm

FWIW, here's another pic of the Bedford MW being used in Korea by HM Forces:

Here's a nice shot of another Bedford MW (in UK WWII "mickey mouse" camo):

Hello,

Thanks for your reply. I have seen that picture of the two mw's before, but didn't realise it was in korea. It's just as interesting that the bedford is in korea. I pity the poor chap driving, i've driven mine in the cold wind and rain but i've not tried it in snow yet. After seeing this picture today i was thinking of doing the belgium winter rally, but if its korea then its a bit to far..... :D

I'd bet the ones in Korea had better windscreens than yours.

Hello topdog,

The one in the picture is the same as mine. The soldiers put a piece of perspex betwwen the screens to give them more protection, shame we can't see more of this truck.

I think the boots give it away as not being WW2.

I heard that the men in the 4th photograph are Australians in Korea.

Bit late to this party but great pics, I would know the difference between the possibility of ww2 or Korea, but I did notice the mirrors are large retangular ones so possibly later type.
I, as would many other, would love to see more of these Bulge photos and of other specific battles.
I spend hours looking at them looking for inspiration for my 42 GPW. Accessories and field mods.
Thanks

Those holes appear to be factory originals. Four for the crash pad, two for the lift handle, another one or two for the canvas half door snaps. This jeep appears to have been picked over. Missing also at least one of the top bow pivots, one wheel of course, top bows, etc. Sorry looking jeep nevertheless.

It also appears to have a coat of white paint that has been applied as winter camouflage.

The most specialized units today couldn't, as a whole, even come close to the hardness of these men. And that's from knowing..
