Re: CG4A
There was one in Maine on display at a restaurant and motel along US Rt-2 40 miles north of Bangor from the late 40's thru the early 60's until it burned. It was one of several that a person had bought surplus in crates in Massachusetts. A good friend of mine had gone along to haul them home on a semitrailer. While traveling thru Lowell after midnite the Chevrolet truck appeared to lose power. The owner got out to check and found that the upper crate had caught on overhead wires and had broken some power poles. They somehow managed to free it up and beat it out of there. The plywood crates were salvaged to build storage sheds, and the rest of the CG-4A Gliders junked after the Instruments were salvaged. Nothing remains of the gliders today.

Re: CG4A
Boy did I love guys like that when I worked on traffic signals, whole spans taken down or some heads scattered everywhere, usually just bark and branches from hauling trees over height and at night.
