What's a "fold over"? (In terms a Yank can understand)

The captain on the left must be a 3rd Army soldier--he's wearing his necktie.
Is it true real Jeeps have flat fenders?

R.R.D.,
Good pic! I've never seen before. Thanks for sharing.
It can be an early jeep (the round muffler). Note the wiper motor. It's an electric one. I like the door. But I don't like that bubba in front of the windshield panel.

You sure thats a Captain? Looks to be, but he's got a M1908 Colt pistol on that are usually carried by general grade officers

Wow - not saluting the general, and no hat while standing outside -- must be wartime.... :)

Close-up looks more like a .45 but in civilian holster. Still somewhat odd. How about a close-up of his rank?

Appears to be Captain but just might be 2 stars. I'm going with Capt. to be on the safe side because I think I see the adjoining crosspiece. Still, he is armed with no pistol belt in a civvie holster hung through his trouser belt. No mag pouch or any other "Under Arms" accoutrement. And it looks like he has on jump boots or possibly the hightop shoepac. He looks like a staff clerk that ran out to give/tell someone something before they drove away

I'm now inclined to agree those aren't captain's bars. A Major General?
