Got a great deal on a rebuilt engine that I am putting in to an M38 frame. It is an earlier L134 with the chain drive timing. Unfortunately it was set up for a truck so the front engine mount plate is wrong.
Will an M38 front engine mount plate be a straight swap? I believe the M38s had gear driven timing so am not sure if that will be an issue or not. Is there much to swapping them?
TIA

Re: Front engine mount plate
The M38 aannd M38A1 have a unique mounting plate so you need the exact one.

Thanks, I'm looking/going to buy one just trying to confirm it will bolt up to an earlier chain driven timing block.

Re: Front engine mount plate
The RMC engine I am currently rebuilding was on an MB and it had the MB type engine mount; both wings pointing the same direction. Joel said that the Army result these engines to be used on MBs, with the use of the correct mounting plate. All I did was use the correct one with one wing forward and one backwards.

Thanks. I'll get one ordered and give it a shot.
