And I like the noise the antenna makes when going thru the bank drive through.

Of course as any of you that own one or more military vehicle knows, the bank is where you go a lot due to maintenance and repair.

I like to see exactly how a military vehicle was used in the field. I deck out my vehicles with radios, MG's, tools, grenades, first aid kits and so on. A "factory" restoration is fine but I like a more rustic look - Give me "been there, done that" any day.

I very seldom ever see them the way they looked in Vietnam. They had no tools since the tools would be stolen in a heartbeat. Most of them had bald assed tires tires and a lot had bald civilian tires. If they had seat cushions they were in pretty rough shape. Radios and MG's were the only accessories and there were not as many MG's as you would think. At least I didn't see that many. The MP's seemed to have the best ones, they had tops. I never saw them with stuff hanging all over them, again, it would be stolen quite quickly, or ripped off in the jungle.

The Radios bring back memories of the 6'-5" radio Operator seated in back of the CO's M-38A1. Imagine being seated in back for 10 hours on a 300 mile convoy.

My jeep had rotors and skids, I was Airborne! I had plenty of headroom. When my jeep crashed it was a little more serious though.
