back round. until last sunday I had good brakes. checked pads good settings good. fluid level good. went out for a drive and they worked just fine. Monday I had the grand kids on board and out for a short drive. first stop sign not brakes!!! first reaction is oh Crimp One Off. 2nd is garb the e-brake.
got it home in the shop, can't find any leaks, pulled the drums off still looking good, no leaks.
The only thing I can think of is there might be a collapsed line seeing as they are older. Will start tracing them back tomorrow morning.
any advise for anything else to look for?

Brakes were all good, then no brakes, pedal goes to the floor & reservoir is full of fluid? Very indicative of master cylinder primary cup failure!

Sure enough that is what it was, the cup failed, and the rest was in bad shape, so replace the master cylinder. better safe
thank you, you were right on

Good time to replace all flexible brake lines....over 15yo or age unknown should be replaced with new manufacture & not NOS.
Parker Hannifin dealers make to order & product is guaranteed to meet or exceed DOT spec's.
