it probably been beat to death on the board but darn if I can find anything.
what is a good oil filter to use on my m151a2, I have a feeling this one has been installed for a number of years.
also oil pressure, will the oil pressure change depending on the viscosity of the oil I use?
thinking of running 10-40. from what I have found so far.
looking for any advise. just trying to get the old girl up and on the road.
I tried to check the anti freeze, went to take off the cap and it came off in 3 piece's !! so I know it hasn't been checked for a long time.
any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: oil and filter
The diesel rated oils still have more of the zinc in them for flat tappet lubrication. This has been removed from most regular oils due to emissions regulations. The Rotella 15W-40 is a good choice. The oil filter listed above is an excellent choice, it uses the same filter as all the Ford V8's from the 60-early 90's.

Re: oil and filter
I have been using the: Fram PH8A oil filter for over 20 years now on my 1967 M151A1, never had a leak.
In my M151A1 I use GTX 10w40 oil.
in my 1943 GPW I use Rotella 15w40 oil.
They both work for me.
I use the Rotella in the WW2 jeep eng. because while in the Model "A" ford club most of the members used Rotella 15w40, they said it was a better for the older slow turning eng's of that day, and I had good luck with it in my 1931 "A" model.
The more modern M151 eng. I think will do better with the multa grade, any brand.

Re: oil and filter
I do spray the oil filters OD just for looks. Has anyone made up a stencil for the filter? Bob
