?
So is the Encore a replica of the M151? I've heard much talk about them but until this post I've never seen one.

it kinda is.... they took the parts from demilled mutts and made new bodies for them. The mutt guys generally didnt care for them since they didn't look exactly the same. On the plus side they used thicker metal and some people liked the tailgate.

Encore mutt
I have had both - a rustfree M151A2 and the Encore - sure I wish I still had the A2 but untill I find another I will use the Encore. The body on the Encore is super tuff and stiff.

finally painted the Encore
Finally got around to finishing most of the mods to the Encore M151 in bought back in April. Still have to add rear lifting rings, shovel and axe mounts and jerry can. Roll bar padding and netting too.

Looking good and getting to look like a real MUTT. I sent you a couple of PM's. Look at them and we might be able to trade for the old black seat cushions for what you need to help to finish her out.

This is just before I finished my restoration and put on the vehicle numbers and symbols. Tan looks great on Mutts...was told they were tan in middle east and north africa.

Re: finally painted the Encore
I thought I had submitted a post right after this commenting on the fabrication work but I guess it did not go through. That is some very nice and clean fabrication! I would guess you are not new to this type of work.pinz712 wrote:Finally got around to finishing most of the mods to the Encore M151 in bought back in April. the mods
Have to admit this was my first Mutt modification - if we want to call it that. I made a drawing of the tailgate replacement on Autocad and had it laser cut. The square tubing design just kinda came about knowing it had to support the weight of the tire. I do TIG welding alot in my business so that wasnt a problem. I had the basic idea of what I wanted to look like and it just evolved from there. One thing I didnt think of was the folding of the top bows. I havent tried folding them down since the building/install of the tailgate replacement - not worried that much since its rare for me to have the top down anyways.
