Re: Custom Seats in Humvee
On mine the B-pillar was already removed when I got it so I moved my batteries under the passenger rear seat and installed two air ride seats from a Peterbilt in place of the front seats. I run the air off a small air holding tank and an electric compressor used to inflate air bags on lowriders. Now I have highbacks, fully adjustable, and ride like a dream. My two cents.
Tanks,Trucks and such...

I have successfully installed and used 4 mrap seats in my humvee. They are extremely comfortable and satisfy federal safety standards.

Great, they look to be almost the same exact size as the original seats. Where you able to secure the seats using the oringal holes or had to make new ones?

One a side note. How did you do the supplemental armor skin on the x doors? Actual stuff or the eBay version?

I just had to drill new holes in the base plate, pretty simple.kserumgard wrote:Great, they look to be almost the same exact size as the original seats. Where you able to secure the seats using the oringal holes or had to make new ones?

I got it off of ebay, its the real stuff though. Basically, you just drill the holes through the x doors and rivet the steel right onto the x door.04mustang wrote:One a side note. How did you do the supplemental armor skin on the x doors? Actual stuff or the eBay version?
