Make your own rear B-pillar Rifle Mounts

Post by tanksntrails » Sun Mar 11, 2018 12:53 pm

I started a project before all the 12446762 brackets came on the market on ebay, but I will go ahead and share this in case the parts become scarce in the future or in case someone would rather build than buy.

The 12446762 bracket (item 8 in picture below) bolts to the B-pillar in the HMMWV, then the rifle barrel clamp (item 6 in pic below) is bolted onto the 12446762 mount.

After buying a 12446762 bracket, I realized it is simply a 2.5" long piece of 2.5" x 1.5" rectangular steel tubing with a few holes drilled in it. The wall thickness is 1/8".

You can buy similar steel tubing here: ... angle-tube

I have posted some Google Drive photo links below (because I couldn't figure out how to attach them to this post) that I took with some Harbor Freight calipers. All of the installation holes are 1-1/4" on-center. ... dZwnCkuTRT ... JfrcYTxI5p ... Al5N6Dse0n ... _ou4efIMtV ... -XYAv7omle

I ordered some metal and made a few more brackets, and they took about 10 minutes to make each. Have fun and be safe if you decide to make your own!

If you are doing a rear install and looking for the rear rifle barrel clamps or butt brackets, send me a message.
